Download free Real Audio If you've been clocking up the hours visiting porn websites, and you're getting worried that maybe you're some kind of cyber pervert, a study of US net junkies might set your mind at rest.
fkr After surveying 9 odd people about their virtual sex lives, researchers built a picture of safe and potentially hazardous levels of cyber sex. The cut-off point between good, clean recreational perving and being sexually compulsive seems to be at the eleven hours a week mark.
Stay below that, and you can describe yourself as having a healthy interest in art and the human body. No harm done.
But if you find yourself poring over blurry photos of what could be a nude Marcia Brady for more than an hour and a half a day, you could be in for more than your fair share of psycho-sexual dysfunction. About eight percent of the people surveyed fessed up to an over eleven hour a week habit, and a little probing showed they had s of psychological distress that weren't all ed for by the connection dropping out every ten minutes.
Introduction
The findings apply mostly to men because - wait for it - the survey found that blokes liked sites with lots of dirty pictures while women preferred chat rooms, where they could forge meaningful meaningless relationships. Ah we're a spontaneous, unpredictable lot aren't we?
The study didn't say whether watching cyberporn made you loopier than the rest of us, but there was a clear link between excessive time at sex sites and psychological distress. So if you're a borderline case and want to stay on the safe side, try to limit your porn-stops to ten hours a week max, and keep both hands on the keyboard.
